A hairdresser does not get her hair done every day, the message therapist rarely gets a message and the photographer doesn't have her picture taken and does not have time to post pictures from her vacation.
After only 5 months I managed to go thru the pictures I took during my trip to China.
I met some extraordinary people and made new friends, Bus B rules :)). I walked thru the Forbidden City and saw The Temple of Heaven. I climbed The Wall of China and got a t'shirt to prove it. I ate not one, but 2 scorpions. I took the subway and walked the streets of Beijing at night and felt safer then in Chicago or Romania. I ate with the locals and listened jazz music in the Hutong. I learned how to use chop sticks from a Canadian girl ( not a chinese ) and picked up 2 cherry tomatoes at the same time ( if you ever want me to do something just say " you can't do that" ). I shopped at the Bazaar in Shanghai and I negotiated the price on chopsticks, fridge magnets, bracelets, you name it :)). I also did not sleep for 8 days, time zone, ahhhh... I am getting old ( never had a problem till I turned 25 ) and I drank as much Starbucks in China as I do here.
Most importantly I've learned to value and appreciate what I have and my family. Parents in Beijing and other large cities are forced to send their kids to leave with the grandparents in villages outside the city because they can not afford to raise them or send them to school, and they rarely see them. The smog is as bad as on tv and the traffic is horrible. Other then that I loved my trip to China and I am looking forward to going back.
I can not wait for my next adventure ( if only I had more free time ).
